My daughter ran track this spring. It was great to watch her run the hurdles. I was a proud Dad watching her compete in an event I ran many, many years ago. She also ran relays. In track, relays are the only events that do not involve just the individual. A group of four runners has to move the baton around the track faster than the other teams. Certainly speedy runners are a great asset to a relay team. But often the final results come down to how effectively the baton is passed from one runner to another.

I grew up in a family that rarely purchased pop (or soda or coke, check out this webpage: for regional variations of what we call it around the USA). So I never developed an affinity to that beverage. I have no bias for Coke or Pepsi or any other brand, but I want to show this video that was put together by Coca Cola and share a few thoughts.

As he put a blue M&M in his mouth, Darin* stated to me Sunday morning, "When I go home, I need to connect with my JV Basketball coach. He always listens to me and teaches me leadership." The FUEL conference was wrapping up and on Sunday morning the Student Leaders were doing an activity that involved answering questions based on their experience and the color of the M&M's they received.

CinnamonRollI enjoyed an excellent cinnamon roll at the Grand Traverse Pie Company this morning! The better part of the encounter was talking with someone about how to lead others. She recently took on a new role at work that requires leading a team, never formally being in a leadership role, she was quite nervous.
